About Me: Christopher Polanco Rodriguez

 

My name is Christopher Polanco Rodriguez, I usually go by Chris but I don't mind if someone calls me Christopher. I am currently living in Corvallis and have been, for most of my life. I have been needing to take principles of marketing for some time now but decided it was finally time. It is required for my major but also I have always had somewhat of an interest in marketing. I love learning all about business and each aspect of it. I have enjoyed accounting classes even though some may consider it to be the most boring part of the business. I am a Business Information Systems major. I chose this because I have an interest in technology but love business and this major seems to mix both of them. Besides technology, I have other interests. During the pandemic, I have started going to the gym and have had more fun with it than I have in the past. Also, I have recently gotten into collecting pokemon cards again mostly because it gives me something I can do to spend time with my nephews. Recently we got a really rare card and seeing my nephew's face when they got it was priceless. The card that we pulled was the gigantamax Vmax Charizard from the Shining Fates set. Pokemon cards have been extremely popular recently which has made it harder to find them but I think it adds to the fun when we go and try to see if any stores have any of them in stock. Going back to the fitness thing I have also enjoyed taking my dogs on a lot of walks. The weather has been really nice in Corvallis and has made it easy for us to find new trails that the dogs love. The picture is from this morning and is of my corgi puppy, Zorro. He is very wild and has a ton of energy so he won't calm down unless we take him on lots of walks.

  It is not often that I am interested in hearing about a restaurant’s ad or new service. Personally, it all seems to be the same thing. “Fresh ingredients,” “One hundred percent beef,” “ Quick, convenient, and quality.” However, I was very interested in something so simple, something that seems like it should have been done earlier. Pizza Hut, one of the biggest pizza chains in the country, recently has come out with a new service. “The Hut Lane,” which is essentially just a drive-through. Pizza hut is one of the world’s biggest pizza chains that is constantly looking for ways to make the customer experience seamless, convenient, and most of all safe, especially during the recent times of the pandemic. The “Hut Lane” is a digital-first contactless drive-thru, and as of a week, ago 1,500 pizza hut locations are already equipped with the technology.
